Payne Springs University Suggests How to Break the Rock Solid Link between Cost and Quality in Higher Education

Payne Springs University (PSU) highlights the fact that technology has supported various sectors and has contributed in sustaining the economy. Because of the latest technologies, quality is improved and costs are reduced. However, this is not happening in higher education! If technology played its significant part in higher education, then students will not be over burdened with huge debts.

Payne Springs University suggests that transparency for students should be increased by enforcing the growth of a student centric ranking. In this way, students will be able to compare their degrees with employment prospects and also, measure cost and value they receive for money. PSU recommends introducing initial metrics for a scorecard, including some important measures for quality of teaching, learning, mentor ship and all factors that are essential for high-quality, well-rounded education. Conducting student surveys would make all this possible.

Payne Springs University further suggests that the federal financial assistance programs for students should strongly be based on employ-ability and innovation. Even under a stable economy, employers are not satisfied with today’s graduates and complain that they are not prepared as per the challenges of 21st century’s labor market and very few graduates are able to initiate their own business. Financial aid programs need to be linked with the completion of courses not with the completion of degree. At present, financial aid programs and related policies are acting as barrier to innovation. All such programs need to be redesigned, in order to support innovation in all aspects of education at every level.
